2011 In Review
2011 was an energizing year for our law firm. Belinda Barnes, our newest partner and former President of the Columbus Bar Association and current District 7 Representative for the Ohio State Bar Association, completed her first full year with our firm. Belinda has also been named one of the top 25 female attorneys in Columbus for 2011 and 2012 by Super Lawyers. Her integration into the firm could not have been better and we look forward to her leadership and litigation expertise to be shared with partners and associates alike.
2011 was also the first full year for our associate, Ben Wright. Ben is an Army veteran, having been the Company Commander (Captain) of Second Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Ben completed tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan and Italy. In addition, he spent time in South Korea and parts of the United States during his eight years of service to our country. Growing up in Illinois in a family in which his father was a builder gave Ben the opportunity to learn construction at an early age. Before he entered law school, he was a project supervisor for a construction company, supervising up to 25 tradesmen in the construction and renovation of multimillion dollar projects. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in May of 2010 and immediately joined our firm. Ben’s life experience has served him well to advance his practice in the areas of construction law as well as insurance law and general litigation.
In 2011 we also hired our newest associate, Leslie Albeit. Leslie graduated from Capital Law School in May of 2010 and recently joined our firm after practicing with another law firm. She is already well versed in personal injury law and also has a criminal law practice. Although she has been with us for only a few months, she has made a tremendous impression on the attorneys around her and on clients who have worked with her.
